Existing HDL function assays are Research Use Only (RUO) because they are technician dependent, labor intensive, and not reproducible to be standardized. This makes them impractical as a routine clinical assay for physicians or as companion tests in drug clinical trials.
Our Solution: We are developing HDL functionality assays capable of being used in the clinical setting by physicians.
By measuring HDL functionality, specific applications emerge including:
- Improved pharmaceutical company HDL directed drug development
- More clinical relevant information about HDL for managing a patient’s coronary heart disease risk, especially residual risk after first heart attack
